On Thursday evening, Redmi launched two new low-cost flagship phones in China. The Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro are new smartphones from Xiaomi. The new Redmi smartphones are the successors to last year’s Redmi K40 lineup. In the current series, they join the already-released Redmi K50 Gaming phone. The Redmi K50 series is part of the Xiaomi 12 line-up, which is the company’s flagship offering.

Prices for the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro
In China, the Redmi K50 Pro starts at CNY 2999. (around Rs 35,807). This is for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage configuration. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant costs CNY 3299 (approximately Rs 39,389), the 12GB RAM and 256GB variant costs CNY 3599 (approximately Rs 42,971), and the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant costs CNY 3999 (approximately Rs 39,389). The Redmi K50 costs CNY 2399 (approximately Rs 28,644) for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, CNY 2599 (approximately Rs 31,031) for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and CNY 2799 (approximately Rs 33,419) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Features of the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro
The Redmi K50 Pro now has a new look. The camera module is housed within a circular ring, which is housed within the square module. The long LED flash is located beneath the camera module. Some patterns run around the lower part of the rear panel. The phone is available in four different colors: Ink Feather Black, Silver Trails, Magic Mirror, and Forest Green. The Redmi branding can be found at the bottom of all of them.
The Redmi K50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, which is built on 4nm technology. For graphics, it has a Mali-G710 GPU. The processor is linked to up to 512GB of storage. The Redmi K50 Pro has a 2K or WQHD+ AMOLED display with 1440p resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Goilla Glass Victus and supports Dolby Vision. Display Mate gave it an A+ rating.
The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. According to Redmi, the compatible charger can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in about 19 minutes. The Redmi K50 Pro comes with a 108-megapixel primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. Surprisingly, Redmi did not reveal the specifications of the other sensors at the launch. Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6 connectivity are standard on the phone.
Meanwhile, the Redmi K50 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, which is built on 4nm technology. It has the same 2K screen as the K50 Pro. It has a slightly larger 5500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
