In memory of the late singer, YouTube Music is also offering curated playlists of songs by Lata Mangeshkar.

On the Android app, YouTube Music has a Downloads shortcut that allows users to quickly play songs that they have manually downloaded or that are in a playlist generated by the app’s Smart Downloads feature. This provides a faster way to begin playing shuffled music on the app, and it can also be dragged to the homescreen to be used as an option to play downloaded music in a random order with a single tap. Meanwhile, the app is displaying curated playlists of Lata Mangeshkar as a tribute to the singer, who died on February 6 at the age of 92.

Long-tap the YouTube Music app icon on Android to quickly play the songs you’ve downloaded as well as those downloaded by YouTube Music’s Smart Download feature for offline listening. It will show you two shortcuts: Downloads and Search. When you select the Downloads option, the app will begin playing songs from downloaded tracks, including those from playlists like Offline Mixtape and Likes.

The feature saves a few seconds because the user does not have to navigate to the Downloads page to play songs. Appears to have been rolled out through a server-side update. There’s no word on when it’ll be available on iOS.

Meanwhile, as a tribute to the late Indian musical legend, YouTube Music is currently showing various playlists under the “Remembering Lata Mangeshkar” topic. The playlists include songs from the artist’s various decades (from the 1950s to the 1980s).

Recently, the YouTube Music app was spotted displaying a Recommended radios tab to users on the mobile app. The feature is rumored to be in testing and is only visible to a select group of users.
